Otteran Tayebwa is the founder of Youth of Uganda (YOU) a registered youth organization in Uganda that seeks to unite all youth regardless of their social background under a single umbrella of socio-economic development. Since 2012, the organization has partnered with other organizations in peace building, environmental activism, youth leadership clinics and technical skilling. Otteran has represented Uganda at the Total energy summer school in France. In 2017, he was selected among the 30 young people under 30 that were inspiring the youth in East Africa. He has a master’s degree of information systems and has forged out a career as a young water professional with National water and sewerage corporation in Uganda. His youth leadership spans from his time at University where he served as a student’s guild prime minister of Makerere University in 2010-2011.
